Finding Comfort in a New Place: Jacqueline’s Story of Loss, Faith, and Compassionate Care

Baton Rouge OBGYN
December 29, 2025

This past August, Jacqueline and her family moved back home to Louisiana after spending many years out of state. Like so many women, she had built a deep, trusting relationship with her longtime OBGYN in Houston — a physician who walked with her through the birth of her son and supported her through five heartbreaking miscarriages. Transitioning to a new doctor after such profound experiences is never easy. And facing another loss without the doctor who had cared for her for over six years felt understandably overwhelming.

But as Jacqueline shared, God had a plan.

Two family friends encouraged her to see Dr. Paige Guillory, and that recommendation became a blessing during an incredibly vulnerable time.

From the very first visit, Dr. Guillory brought comfort, clarity, and unwavering support. Jacqueline describes her care as nothing short of extraordinary — from the compassion she showed in each interaction, to her thoughtful communication, to the flexibility of fitting her in quickly when she needed it most. Whether it was timely calls with lab updates, gentle guidance through difficult decisions, or attentive care during and after surgery at Woman’s Hospital, Jacqueline felt truly seen, heard, and supported.

“In a time where you feel most vulnerable, scared, and even weak, to have a doctor and team lift you up and care for you at such a superb level is truly amazing and remarkable.”
