Celebrating Dr. Kathy Guidry

After an incredible career dedicated to caring for women in our community, Dr. Kathy Guidry is beginning a new chapter — retirement!

For so many years, Dr. Guidry has been an integral part of Baton Rouge OBGYN and Woman’s Hospital, caring for generations of women with compassion, dedication, and genuine warmth. Her leadership at Woman’s Hospital, including serving as Chief of Obstetrics and Chief of Staff, is just one part of the lasting impact she has made on our community.

Her commitment to caring for women extended well beyond the walls of the hospital and office. Dr. Guidry also volunteered her time providing exams for the Rape Crisis Center, offering compassionate care and support to women during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

But for those of us who have had the privilege of working alongside her, it’s not just her accomplishments that stand out — it’s who she is. Dr. Guidry brings warmth, kindness, dedication, and genuine care to everything she does. She has touched the lives of countless women and families and has made an incredible impact on our practice and our community.

Dr. Guidry’s last day seeing patients will be December 30, 2026.

Our office will be reaching out to patients who have appointments scheduled after Dr. Guidry’s retirement to assist with rescheduling. Patients are also welcome to call our office to reschedule their appointments.

As she looks forward to retirement, she’s excited for more time to travel, hike, ski, read, quilt, spend time with her grandkids in Colorado, and enjoy her new rescue pup, Goldie!

While we will miss her dearly, her partners are honored to carry on the legacy she has built and are committed to upholding the exceptional, compassionate care her patients have come to know and trust.

Dr. Guidry, thank you for an extraordinary career and for the countless lives you’ve touched. We are so grateful for you and couldn’t be happier to see you begin this well-deserved next chapter!

Here’s to retirement, new adventures, time with family, and plenty of Goldie snuggles!
